Spark Records

Meet Spark Records, Holland’s finest independent boutique label.

Spark Records was established in 2019 by leading Dutch singer/songwriter Ilse DeLange, fulfilling a lifelong dream to build a warm and welcoming home for extraordinary young talent. Within the first year Spark Records released Duncan Laurence’s “Arcade”. The song would go on to exceed the 10 billion combined streams mark, thereby proving a spark can turn into a wildfire.

Ilse met Duncan in 2014 while working as coach on The Voice of Holland. That same year she participated in The Eurovision song contest with her band “The Common Linnets”, finishing as the runner up that year (the highest ranking for a Dutch entry since 1974). Their (Americana) song “Calm after the storm”, reached no. 1 in 14 countries throughout Europe. A few years later Ilse was asked to suggest participants for Eurovision. She remembered Duncan Laurence, found “Arcade” in a forgotten dropbox and the rest is history. She guided Duncan through the whole process, got her trusted team involved and… they won! Resulting in well over 1.5 billion combined streams, Arcade is one of the biggest singles of the decade.

Ilse’s own career sounds like a fairytale but is in fact a dream come true. After signing her first record deal with Warner Nashville in 1997. She records her debut album with country legends and breaks all sales records in The Netherlands. No one saw that one coming. Same goes for the fact that some 25 years later, Ilse DeLange shows no signs of slowing down. Still at the top of her game, Ilse is releasing new music regularly, enjoys being a well-known tv personality in The Netherlands and Germany and tours the live circuit in Europe to great success. Feeling grateful, she loves sharing her experience in maintaining a highly successful career (5 million physical albums, 65 million streams, over 45 international music prizes) by helping to ignite the careers of others.
